This guide explains how to rename, delete, or add budget categories within ShareBuilder CRM. Budget categories help structure your forecasting and revenue reporting by segmenting revenue types like Local, National, or Digital.
These categories are visible across key CRM tools and dashboards.
Renaming, deleting, or adding budget categories supports:
Accurate revenue tracking when business structures or strategies change
Flexible reorganization of categories as teams evolve
Consistent reporting across business units and markets
Note: Any changes to budget categories may require remapping Revenue Categories, so proceed with caution when editing them.
Go to Options → Admin → Budget Categories.
Use the Business Unit dropdown to select the applicable unit.
Under "Existing Budget Categories," locate the one you'd like to rename.
Enter the new name in the provided field.
Click Rename Category to save your changes.
In the same Budget Categories section, choose the category you wish to delete.
Select another existing category to transfer any associated dollars to.
Click Delete Budget Category to finalize the action.
In the “New Business Unit Budget Category” section, select from the dropdown or type a new category name.
Indicate if it should be active and/or budgeted.
(Optional) Set defaults for:
Spot revenue
New pending
Direct/Agency commission %
Click Add Budget Category.
